    Prayer Requests

We have several brother's families that need our prayers.

It is with heavy heart that I must report that Worshipful Brother Charles L. Buha has been call from labor to that Celestial Lodge Monday afternoon (2/8/10). Masonic Serices for Worshipful Brother Charles L Buha are Thursday, Feb 11. We are to gather at Ziegenhein Funeral Home (7027 Gravois Avenue, St. Louis 63116) at 7:30pm with Masonic Services at 8:00pm. WB Buha was very active in the fraternity until recently. It mean a lot to his family if we could have a good showing at his visitation. Please pass this along to any brothers that may not be receiving this email.

I received an update on Bro Mike Hatley this morning. When they went in for the Cardiac Cath. they found a 95% blockage on one and a couple with others with 60% blockage. The 60% they will treat with meds but the 95% blocked one they fixed yesterday. They were able to get a stent in and open it back up. He was admitted into St. Elizabeth in Belleville yesterday afternoon. They are hoping for him to come home today or Friday if there are no more problems. [UPDATE] More good news this morning. I just talked to Bro Mike Hatley. He was discharged from the hospital this morning and is heading home now. He is going to need to take it easy for a few days, but was very happy for a successful operation.

At the meeting on Tuesday, I found out that our Bro Ralph Grave's wife, Peggy, is currently battling the early stages of breast cancer. I also happened to talk to RWB Alan DeWoskin and he said that his wife is doing much better and the treatment appears to have worked. RWB Nick Cichielo is still feeling a little under the weather.

And lets continue to keep all our brothers and families in our prayers: WB Raph Simpson's wife, Bro Ralph Grave's wife, Bro Mike Hatley and his father, RWB RWB Nick Cichielo, RWB Thomas Gooch, WB Jack Loomstein, Bro Darrel Ditto, and Bro Guy Penn Sr.

If you know of Brother that needs our prayers, please call or email us to let us know.

The Grand Master's Breakfast is 8:30am April 18th at Moolah Shrine Center. A table of 8 is tentalively priced at $100. There will be discussion at tonight's meeting. The lodge will be purchasing 2 tables and there will be a signup sheet at tomorrow night at the meeting.

Please make plans to attend February 22 meeting of Bethel #4 at our lodge, which is their Honor Masonic Heritage (Presidential Theme). All Masons and Eastern Star are invited. It would be good for us to have a good showing, so if you are available, please try to attend.

If you didn't come out on Saturday night, we had a pretty good showing of people at our annual Valentine's Dinner. We had a delightful dinner catered by SuperSmokers BBQ. We had beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey, corn on the cob, green beans, potato salad, cucumber salad, cole slaw, cheesecake, and those little eclairs. Oooohhh my. It was so good.

Also coming up in February, we will be having our annual Trivia Night on February 20th. Doors will open at 6pm and the trivia will get started at 7pm. Cost is $150/ table of 8 if reserved by February 15, 2010, and $160/ table of 8 at the door. Checks payable to PSRH #79. There will be Door Prizes, Silent Auction, 50/50 Drawing, and a Prize for Best Decorated Table. There will be unlimited light snacks, soda, and water provided. Questions, comments, or reserve your table call Bro Spencer at 636-970-3942 (Home) or 314-740-1050 (Cell). We currently only have 3 tables paid for and we need a few more people to commit to coming out that night. Please give Bro Spencer a call and let him know if you are able to come. This is our own charity and would be good if we can raise money to help our other efforts.

We did manage to have about 40 kids at the Holiday party on Saturday and they seemed to really enjoy themselves. If you were not there, Boo the clown entertained the kids, we had hot dogs, pizza, tacitos, veggies, and cookies, and then Santa Claus made an appearance delivering the presents to all the kids.

After the Holiday party a lot of us made our way out to the Hardee's Ice Complex in Chesterfield. We were very fortunate to have 41 volunteers and we processed 71 child identification kits. A number of the volunteers stayed after the event to see a very good hockey game. Thanks to all the volunteers that showed up to make this a great event!

Coming up in February, we will be having our annual Trivia Night on February 20th. Doors will open at 6pm and the trivia will get started at 7pm. Cost is $20/person or $130/ table of 8 if reserved by December 31, 2009, $150/ table of 8 if reserved by February 15, 2010, and $160/ table of 8 at the door.

And speaking of food, please keep bringing in non-perishable food items. We will have a box for gathering your cans and other non-perishable food items at lodge. Worshipful Master Pete would like everybody to consider bringing at least one can of food (or other non-perishable food to each meeting for our food drive.
